Melba Hobbs

Melba Hobbs passed away July 14, 2017 in Midvale, Utah at the age of 96. She was born April 23, 1921 in Midvale, Utah to Arthur F. and Effie Hansen Hobbs.

Melba was a member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. She attended the University of Utah and Steven Henager Business College. She was hired by Walker Bank in 1940 and became the assistant manager of the Foothill branch in 1974. She was appointed branch manager in 1975, becoming the first women branch manager in Walker Bank history.

She was survived by many nephews and nieces who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Andy F. Hobbs.

The family would like to thank Melba's friends and neighbors for their visits and any care they may have given her in these last years. We would especially like to thank her caregivers who made it possible for her to stay in her home.

Melba requested there be no viewing or funeral. In keeping with her wishes the family laid her to rest with a graveside service at the Midvale City Cemetery on July 21, 2017.
