Sadie Maxine Wright Burgess, 84, loved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 5, 2015 in South Jordan, Utah. Maxine was a Christmas gift to her parents, Mabel Levone Degraffenried and Benjamin Harrison Wright, having been born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1930 in Tuscumbia, Missouri. She was married to Glen Taylor Burgess in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on June 16, 1961.

Maxine graduated from Jordan High School and then earned a teaching degree from Utah State University. Most of her teaching years were spent teaching kindergarten children. She only briefly taught cooking and sewing in a classroom, but she excelled at those skills and used them to benefit her family for as long as she was able. She was an amazing hostess and enjoyed having friends and family around her as often as possible. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served lovingly in various capacities of the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women organizations of the church, to name a few. Maxine also served a mission in the Great Lakes area.

Maxine is survived by children, Sherilyn (Rich) Williams, Galyn (Debbie) Burgess, and Kellene (Matt) Jellings; ten grandchildren; three sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen Burgess, and two brothers.

Funeral Services will be held June, 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hillcrest 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 8410 S. 1000 E., Sandy, Utah. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Sunday 6-8 p.m. or Monday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery.
