Maureen Thomas Duarte, 77, of Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 24, 2016 at 00:20, after a long battle with CLL Leukemia and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
The graveside services will be at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S., Millcreek, Friday, July 29, 2016 at 15:00 with a family celebration of life to follow.
Maureen was born in Salt Lake City on May 31, 1939. She graduated from West High School. Maureen was married to Gordon S Duarte on April 22, 1978; they were married 38 years. Maureen worked for Workers Compensation Fund for 11 years where she then retired. She enjoyed reading and hanging out with her great-grand babies.
Maureen is survived by her 3 sisters Jeraldeane White, Judith Champlin and Karen Johnson, brother Frederick Thomas, daughter Susan Voss, son Rikki Jukes, granddaughter Mandy Draper (Mike), granddaughter Brielle Carney, great-grandkids, Ashlee Draper, Nolan Jones, Chase Jones, Eliza Jones, Alexus Draper, and her great-great-grand babies Aidyn Jones, Brailee Jones, Faye Kozlowski, Ar'ii Jones, Kylie Garrett, niece Debbie Fesko and many more nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Maureen is preceded in death by parents Leo and Virginia (Cardwell) Thomas, brothers Leo Thomas and Joseph Thomas.
