It is with deepest sorrow that we announce that Matthew David Lach, age 36, our beloved son, brother, family member, and friend, passed suddenly on July 14, 2020.
Matt was born on New Years Day, 1984. He relished being the baby of the family, born just fifteen minutes after his twin brother Mike.
Matt served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Alaska Anchorage Mission. While there, he was asked to serve the Samoan community where he completely assimilated into their culture, learning to speak fluent Samoan. Matt spent most of his life living in Salt Lake City working in sales. He also had a passion for cooking and worked as a chef.
Matt was funny, outgoing, and loving, yet he was also introverted and introspective. He could have the deepest of conversations, especially with his mother and twin brother. We will always remember his infectious smile and caring personality.
Matt will be missed every day by his mother, Cathy Fitzpatrick; his twin brother and best friend, Michael; two older brothers, Doug Kesler and Brian (Dori) Kesler; three older sisters, Kimberly Morris, Katie Singleton, and Candace Lach; his current and former stepfathers, Kevin Fitzpatrick and Brad Libin; a stepbrother, Joe (Jeni) Libin; his nephews, Jack, Cole, and Harrison, and his niece, Ellie; and his much loved Pug, Moose. We will all miss his smile, laughter, and hugs!
Those who knew Matt, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
When you think of Matt, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
