Mary Ellen Romero

Our sweet Mary Ellen Romero was born December 15, 1950 in Salt Lake City to Jose S. and Sarah Gomez, and died February 21, 2022 in South Jordan, Utah surrounded by her family and friends. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Mary grew up in Midvale, Utah and attended Hillcrest High School. She enjoyed her work at Snowbird Resort and Merit Medical Systems.

Mary's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved to have fun and was the life of the party. She found delight in all of her children and was a great example to them in how to enjoy life to fullest. Mary was loved by many and will be missed by all. We are pleased that she is free from the physical illness and pain from which she suffered for the past few months.

People enjoyed her company as she would light up any room with her positive personality and her ability to make people laugh at their own mistakes and problems. She taught her children well with the wise word "whatever" as life had much to offer and keep going forward not back.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Richard and Alfred and sister Nellie Cruz. She is survived by her children: Mario (Rhonda), Toni (Phil) and Stephanie (Junior), her grandchildren: Natasha (Weston), Ciara, Braxton, Elena, Eliza, Mia and Seth and great-granddaughter Mila, her sister Linda and brother Joseph (Lanet), also many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

We hope her order is ready when she gets to heaven: one hard shell taco, scoop of rice, scoop of beans and an order of flour tortillas with extra hot salsa and a cold Pepsi.

A viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale on Friday, March 4th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
