Mary Alice Crapo Lundskog, age 90, died November 26, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on February 16, 1933 to wonderful parents, James Clement Crapo and Alice Barton Crapo. She grew up with three older brothers (Jim, Dick and Reed) and one younger sister (Charlene) in Sandy, Utah.
Mary was quite social and loved to learn. In Junior High School she was nominated as "Head Girl." In High School she was recognized as the "girl with the great ideas." She graduated in 1951 from Jordan High School, where her Dad taught band and music.
She also enjoyed singing in her Dad's Handel's Messiah performed at Christmas. Toward the end of her life she enjoyed singing along with the Tabernacle Choir every day.
She attended Brigham Young University where she roomed with life-long friends, Marian Sund, Kay McNamara, and Dorothy Silberstein Argyle. She also attended and then graduated from the University of Utah, in 1955 with a degree in Education.
Mary met her sweetheart, Elry G. Lundskog, on a blind date set up by a mutual friend, Lois Spencer Barker. She later married Elry, who was the love of her life, in the Salt Lake Temple on December 28, 1955. Mary served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including as an ordinance worker with Elry in the Jordan River Temple for fifteen years.
She loved reading and studying her scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. She has a strong testimony and a love of the Savior and would share it when she could.
Mary is survived by six wonderful children: Cheryl (Edward) Staley, Gary (Cheryl) Lundskog, Mark (Julie) Lundskog, Craig (Jerilyn) Lundskog, Alice Lundskog and Sharon (Jeffery) Perkins.
She is also survived by her sister, Charlene Gilbert Judd, sister-in-laws; Marilyn Crapo, Gay Sherrow, Afton Richardson, Margie (Gary) Atkinson, Gail Lundskog, Shirlene Lundskog and brother-in-law, Darrell Eddington; nineteen wonderful grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and grandson, Samuel Perkins. We are grateful to know that our mother is having a wonderful reunion with her husband, parents, brothers, relatives and friends.
