Mary, age 63, left us unexpectedly on August 7, 2015, surrounded by family.
Mary was born in Corpus Christie, Texas on August 13, 1951 to Commander Nils A.A. and Mary S. Carlson. She married Rex Christensen Sr. and they had two beautiful children, Rex and Christine.
On December 24, 2013 she married Shelly Bishop after 6 years of partnership.
Mary proudly served our Country in the U.S. Coast Guard, Air Force and Navy. She retired with an Honorable Discharge from the Utah National Guard after 23 years of dedicated service.
Mary spent her summers and weekends with her family and friends camping, fishing and boating at Strawberry Reservoir, where she was lovingly known as "Mary from the Berry" and always had a campfire going.
Mary most definitely "enjoyed the little things"! Her dreams were limitless and she lived every one of them. Mary's life was always a celebration and she unknowingly emitted pure energy that would encompass everyone around her.
Mary is survived by her wife, Shelly Bishop, Sister, Diane Neil (Steven), Son, Rex Christensen (Tonya), Daughter, Christine Wolf (Steven), Grandchildren, Nisha, Tineka, Ashley, Joshua, Jaegar and Sean; Her Great Granddaughter, Annabelle; Nieces and Nephews and extended family members.
Preceded in death by her parents, Nils and Mary Carlson, Brother, Jim Carlson and beloved dogs, Katie, Pepper, Korina and Sasha.
Services will be held Friday, August. 14, 2015 at Goff Mortuary located at 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. There will be a gathering from 5:30-7:00 p.m. with funeral services from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
