Mary Louise Carman Allison, our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great grandmother & aunt returned home to her Father in Heaven on September 30, 2017 at her home in St. George, Utah.
Mary was born on July 14, 1930 in Coalville, Utah to Lois Rees Carman and John Benton Carman. She was the second of four children. She graduated from North Summit High School in 1948. She married Vincent Hulme and was later divorced. On November 27, 1993, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Allison. They enjoyed 23 years of marriage and were always together working on their farm and many other projects.
Mary was always industrious and ambitious from the time she was young, delivering milk, selling Christmas cards or the Veterans' poppies. As a grownup, she leased a restaurant in Wyoming, owned a gas station/store in Echo, Utah, worked at a glass plant in California, worked for Garment Lettering as a chain-stitch operator, and later became a supervisor at GTE Electronics working with fiber optics where she invented a new patent. She loved learning new things. Mary loved playing the piano, bassoon, accordion, guitar and singing. She also loved sewing, doing alterations for people, crocheting, embroidering, knitting, and doing upholstery work. Mary's family was very important to her and she always enjoyed playing with the young children in the family.
Mary is survived by her husband Ken, her daughter, Helen Rae (Robert) Adkins of Riverton, Ken's daughter, Andrea (Rafael) Nunn of Santa Rosa, California, her brother John Edward (Brenda) Carman of St. George, her grandchildren, Jodi Adkins (Steve) Jensen of Allen, Texas, Jake (Alisa) Adkins of Aurora, Colorado, Chandler Adkins of Riverton. Also surviving her are her great-grandchildren, Candice (KC), Hailey, Jamison, Madison, Isabella, Emersyn, Lily, Hunter, Austin, Danielle, Erik, and Bryan. She is also blessed to have two great-great grandchildren, Ella McKinley and Hayden.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, David Carman, her sister, Phoebe Burroughs, brother-in-law, Charles Burroughs, and her grandson, Cameron Adkins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, Utah 84020. The funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. and be preceded by a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Interment at the Coalville Cemetery.
