Marvin Willard Loosle

Marvin W. Loosle, 2/8/1933-5/12/2018, devoted son of God, passed away on May 12, 2018. He was born and raised on a farm in Clarkston, Utah to George D. and Gladys M. Loosle, and was the oldest of six children. He graduated from North Cache High School and loved sports. His specialties were basketball and baseball, where he was an all-star left handed 1st baseman.

In 1952-1956 he served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean war. During his service he met the love of his life, Patty L. Heckman. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on March 26, 1956. Marvin and Patty were blessed with two sons & two daughters. This year they celebrated 62 wonderful years of marriage. Marvin received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Utah State University and his Master's degree in electrical engineering & business management from the University of Utah.

Marvin and Patty served a full time LDS mission in West Virginia in 1996 & 1997, and as missionaries in the Sandy Institute. Marv served as a missionary in the Bishop's Storehouse and in the Joseph Smith Family History Center. He had many callings including those in the Bishopric, Stake Presidency and as a Family History consultant. Marv had a passion for family history, and coauthored a book about the Loosle's & Loosli's in America & Switzerland. He enjoyed family activities such as running, hiking, boating, camping, and ice cream. His family was very important to him and he was a great exemplar to us all.

Marvin is survived by his wife Patty H Loosle, son Brent Loosle (Pauline), daughter Tami Loosle, son Todd Loosle (Deone), daughter Korie Jensen (Clint); 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters (Jeanette & Brenda) & 2 brothers (Darrell & Gaylen). He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Evelyn L. Humpherys, and a grandson, Blake B. Loosle.

Funeral services will be held Sat, May 19 at 11:00 am in the Sandy Mt. Jordan 7th Ward Bldg, 235 E 9800 S, Sandy, UT. Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 S 700 E, Draper, UT and on Sat from 9:30-10:45 at the church. Burial will be in the Clarkston, UT Cemetery.
