Born July 30, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donald and Faye (Beveridge) Leatherman. Marsha passed on September 22, 2020 from natural causes. Marsha was preceded in death by both parents, 2 sisters, and her youngest daughter. Marsha was survived by her husband, Michael Copfer, 2 sons Mathew Copfer, Travis (Jill Knudson) Copfer, 1 daughter Pauline Copfer McGraugh (Ken Fackrell), 1 son In-Law Daniel (Elizabeth) Vargas. 3 siblings Richard (Deanne) Leatherman, Marilynn (Jim) Cooper, David (Linda) Leatherman, 1 brother In-Law Frank (Brandi) Burgess, and 9 grandchildren with a few additions. Marsha and Mike were married on February 4, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah, later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 24, 2014.

Marsha was a great example of love thy neighbor, and to give service to others around you. She was a loving but strict mom. She devoted her life around her husband, children, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren.

When Marsha was 15 months old, she contracted the Polio virus. She spent approximately 6 months in the Iron Lung and then was transferred to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marsha was the First successful Muscle Transplant in the United States, she was also the First successful leg lengthening in the World at the age of 13. She spent most of her childhood in and out of hospitals, but when she was home, she lived life to the fullest with her parents and siblings. Marsha later meet her soulmate Mike and had a beautiful family. Though her life was full of challenges she had many blessings and angels watching over her. The one thing she really believed in is families are eternal and the power of prayer and the priesthood. She had a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mom loved to read a good book or watch a movie along with that she loved to have her head rubbed. She was also very talented and could crochet any thing without a pattern. She made homemade dresses to dolls and afghans. She was very creative with everything she did. When she was not busy taking care of her family, she was busy helping others. Every month had its own holiday our yard was never boring, she loved to decorate, and it had a story within the decorations, she continued this until she passed.

Mom was a collector of many things such as Mickie and Minnie, Alf, Furbies, And most of all Winnie the Pooh. She was a child at heart, who never wanted to grow up. She taught in the primary and the boy scouts for many years. She made many friends along her path of life and in one way or another they became family to us all. "For we are all children of our heavenly father". She was an amazing example of loving one another and give service to thy neighbor. She will be greatly missed and remembered in all that we do.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9th at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 1250 W. 1400 S, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Friday prior to the services from 10:30 to 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Memorial Redwood cemetery.
