Marlo Alfred Menlove

Marlo Alfred Menlove, 82, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2017 after courageously facing and enduring the debilitating effects of Vascular Parkinsonism.

Marlo was born on February 17, 1935 in Provo, Utah to Ernest Lavon and Edna Neoma Jacobson Menlove, the third of five children.  Marlo spent his early years in Provo, attended grade school in Ogden and Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School (1953). He received a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah. He served in the New England Mission (1955-1957) and the U.S. Army (1957-1959). He married Del Rae Isom in the Salt Lake Temple on November 25, 1959. They are the parents of 6 daughters. They have 24 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren with two more on the way.

Marlo lived a life of service to his family, church, and community. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he held many ward and stake callings including bishop. He served a second mission with Del Rae in the Washington D.C. North Mission (2004-2005). He worked for Utah Power/Pacificorp for 30 years. He participated and served in professional societies and community councils, including Sandy City Water Advisory Board and Midvale City Council.

He is survived by his daughters: Cynthia (Chris), Martha (Ivan), Julie (Mark), Sylvia (Brett) and Heather (Spencer); siblings: James, Mary Lee, and Lynn. He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter Karen, his parents, and sister Veone.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Union Fort 5th Ward Chapel, 6770 S. 500 E., Midvale, Utah. A viewing will be held the evening before, September 28, 2017, at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, Midvale from 6-8 p.m. and day of the services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Burial at Elysian Gardens, 1075 E. College St., SLC will follow the service.
