Marlene Oliver

Marlene Hamberlin Oliver, 85, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, completed her earthly mission enduring to the end on July 21, 2017 with family by her side. She was born on February 25, 1932 at home in Salt Lake City to loving parents, Margaret Hall Wonnacott and Tracy Lorenzo Hamberlin. She was married to two good men. Vaughn Snow, who she later divorced and Richard Oliver. Marlene and Richard were married on November 3, 1976 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Marlene graduated from South High School in 1949. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a District Supervisor for 27 years. She volunteered for many years as a Pink Lady at Alta View Hospital. She touched the lives of everyone she met, she had an amazing memory, remarkable hearing and a strong will that kept her going through all of her health problems. Dick and Marlene retired from their home in Draper and moved to St. George, Utah. There they spent many wonderful years, had many wonderful friends and neighbors, and enjoyed having family come and visit. Family was always her greatest joy in life. She never forgot a birthday and made sure visitors always left her home with a little extra money in their pockets. She had no shortage of personality, her spunky attitude and witty comments always kept us laughing.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard R Oliver; children, Rocky (Karen) Snow, Mark Snow, Stan (Bobi) Oliver, Robin (Rick) Marshall, Bret (Kat) Oliver, Mark (Lori) Oliver, Mike (Tami) Oliver; 26 grandkids and 19 great grandkids with two more on the way.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Marvin Gene Hamberlin; stepson, Rick Oliver; stepdaughter, Darlene Vawdrey; granddaughters, Brittany Lynn Christensen and Brynn Ashley Snow.

A celebration of life to honor Marlene will be held Wednesday, July 26 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East in Draper, UT 84020. Interment, Draper City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Wentworth and Brighton Hospice for their kind and loving care.
