Marilyn Joy Whetman, 92, passed away on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, in Draper, Utah. She was surrounded by her loving family as she was peacefully welcomed into heaven.
Marilyn was born on February 14th, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rose Matilda Lunnen, and Earnest Oaks.
Marilyn married Glen Whetman on December 10th, 1949, in Sandy, Utah.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She endured more struggles than she deserved, but always maintained a positive attitude and brought joy to those around her. Marilyn’s children were everything to her and she loved and supported them throughout her entire life, always putting their needs above her own. Her smile and kind heart will be remembered forever. We love you, Mom, and always will.
Marilyn left behind children Craig Whetman and his wife Julia, Lana Nagel, Shane Whetman, and Travis Whetman and his wife Taylor. Grandchildren Brandon, Jason, Benjamin, Sean, and Katie. And eight great grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Whetman and her parents Earnest Oaks and Rose Matilda Lunnen.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, January 15th, in the Cultural Hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2625 Milo Way 4910 South, Holladay, Utah 84117. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
