Marilyn Lee Sharp Bogden, our beloved mom, grandma, and great grandma quietly passed away July 5, 2015. Marilyn was born in Murray, Utah on December 5, 1932 to Jane D and George Randolph Sharp. She was one of seven children. While growing up, mom helped raise her younger siblings and loved caring for them. She graduated from Jordan High School and then continued her studies at BYU. Marilyn married William "Bill" Bogden in February 1956. They were blessed with six children: five sons and one daughter. She loved being a mom. Her whole life was centered on her family and always putting their needs before her own.
Marilyn was a member of the LDS Church where she taught Primary classes while her children were young. She loved taking them to church and singing Bible Hymns. She enjoyed being a Grandma and was blessed with 12 grandchildren, as well as one great grandchild. She adored them all very much, and loved spending time with them whenever she could. She loved looking after them when they were younger. She traveled to California many times to be with her grandchildren who live there. She would bake cookies with them, play board games, cards, and read to them. She was a wonderful cook and an amazing homemaker. One of her greatest joys was planning our annual Christmas party. She enjoyed having all of her family together. She loved singing Christmas carols and relished in watching everyone open their presents. The holidays brought her so much joy; it was her favorite time of the year. She spent countless hours in the kitchen preparing family dinners and making sure there was plenty of food for everyone, especially at Thanksgiving. During her later years, she worked at Albion Elementary, Butler Middle, and Brighton High School where she enjoyed being around the students. She was very giving and generous with her love.
She is survived by her children Larry Bogden, Ronnie (Teri) Bogden, Gary (Anna) Bogden, Lisa (Layne) Statner, and Jim (Georgia) Bogden. Her grandchildren: Justin, Riley, BreAnna, Greyson, Brielle, Marissa, Brandon, Mikaela, Kenedy, Mila, and newborn twin girls, as well as her great grandchild, Densley. She is also survived by her sister Bonnie, and brother's Gordon, Val, and Ted. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her son Wendell, her parents, and her sister's Randolyn Brady and Karen Steele. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
