Marie Bott passed away peacefully from causes incident to age on April 8th, 2024 – four days shy of her 92nd birthday.
Marie was born in Salt Lake City on April 12th, 1932, to Bartley and Victoria McDonough. Her early years were spent in Park City, UT, and Portland, OR. Her family returned to Salt Lake City when she was 13 years old, and she resided there for the remainder of her life. She attended Judge Memorial High School, graduating in 1951. As a senior she was homecoming queen. After high school she met Larry K. Bott and they were married on November 20th, 1954. In due course of time they welcomed two children: Robert and Victoria.
Marie was a social butterfly; she loved chatting and had a knack for befriending everyone she met. She maintained many lifelong friendships, including with her grade-school friends from Oregon. She never missed an event, whether it was a party, BBQ, or St. Patrick’s Day parade. She enjoyed travel – especially to her beloved Ireland. Her last adventure was a trip to Greece, Italy, and Spain at the spritely age of 90. She also enjoyed golfing, shopping, and visits to Wendover.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, and brothers Bart, James “Pat”, Tom, and Bob. She is survived by her brother Joe, her son Robert (Junell), her daughter Victoria, her grandson Robert Jr. (Tiffany), and great-grandchildren Tristan, Tavin, and Eleanor. “Mimi”, as she was affectionally called, will greatly be missed.
