Maria Casias

Maria passed away peacefully after a courage fight with cancer on June 13th, 2022 at St. Joseph Villa in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 61. Born in Romeo, Colorado July 16th, 1960.

Maria was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin and Friend to many. Maria many years ago chose to live her life freely with a free spirit. She loves living in Salt Lake City on the westside. She was so funny and always making jokes and her beautiful smile was breathtaking. If you wanted a good laugh all you had to do was sit and have a visit with her. Her good humor kept her spirit alive till her last breath even when she lost her mobility. She was always saying “Let's go to the baile.” She always joked about getting up and going dancing. Till her last breath she remembered everyone and what was happening in their lives, because she loved her family so much, although she was out living the free spirit of life.

She was worn to Ernesto Arturo Casias and Maria Oclires Chacon. Survived by her children Ramona Iribe-McDonald (Issac), Jesus Iribe (Judy), Maria Fernandez (Pejay), Juanito Iribe, Julio Iribe, Magdalena Alvarez and Andrea Ordoñez (Alfonso), 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and her siblings Baldino, Viola, Bridgette, Monica, Timothy and many nieces and nephews.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Fabian and Jeremy, and her grandson Zaiden.

Would like to thank all the staff at St. Joseph Villa Hospice for the care they gave our mom, all the doctors and nurses at Intermountain Medical Hospital for the care she received. A very special thank you all her family and friends who took the time to go visit her.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, June 16 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, from 5–8 pm.
