Born to Charles Hyrum Kendall and Wilma Hodgkinson Kendall on May 24, 1942 in Vernal, Utah. He was the 4th of 7 children. He crashed into and married the love of his life Barbara Kendall on the 27th of July, 1964. Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on the 18th of November, 1968. In his youth he rode the rodeo, served Honorably in the Air Force, taught for Arthur Murray, worked on cattle ranches in Montana, worked in the oil fields of the Uintah Basin, and was on the Duchesne County Sheriff Search and Rescue Posse, taking on the most challenging tasks. He took in hundreds of children in the foster care system in the late 1970's through early 1980's from all over the country, all the while driving his beloved white semi-truck. For 34 years he was a truck driver of some kind, long haul, oil, local, dirt, and diesel. If you ever talked to Lyle he referred to himself as "We." That was him and his big white truck, the Christmas Tree as they called him with all of his lights.
Later in his life he served an LDS Mission with his wife to the 12 Steps of Addiction Recovery. He also served in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Nothing brought him more joy than doing Temple work. In the last few years of his life he made possible the work of over 2000 people.
Lyle and Barbara lived life to the fullest and are thankful for the wonderful life that they have had together. His passing is just a short pause in their love story.
