Lupe "Lou" Judith Yniguez Mitchell, beloved Mom and Grammy went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Feb. 21, 2017.
Lou was born on Dec. 18, 1924 to Jose and Maria Yniguez in Crockett, California, the sixth of eight children, who remained close.
Held the rank of Sergeant during W.W. II as a medic in the Women's Army Corps, served as a singer in the special services division, and later enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves.
Married Melvin Mitchell, later divorced.
Lou will always be remembered for her selflessness, humor, humility, patriotism, optimism, and quiet strength. The greatest of these is her love for her family.
Survived by her five children, Cathy (Dennis) Mills, Scott Mitchell, Sherry (Javier) Martinez, Pam (Larry) Meadows, Janet Mitchell; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Josh (Nicole), Justin, Jake (Michelle), Breann, Chelsea (Jory); four great-grandchildren, Lawson, Lily, Brady, and Lilyanna Lou; sisters, Helen and Gloria, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 9, at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Christian Assembly, 8000 South 300 East, Sandy, Utah.
