Luis was born and raised in Valle de Olivos, Chihuahua, Mexico. Immigrating to the United States in 1950, he married the love of his life, Viola Aragon, in 1952.
During their 64-year marriage, Luis was a versatile construction worker, using his skills to build their family home. He was a gardener, a fisherman, a member of the Utah Laborers union, a devoted Catholic, and a pillar of Utah's Latino community, helping countless people.
Luis is survived by his beloved Viola, by a large extended family in the United States and Mexico (including the Casillas, Aragon, Leyba, Lucero, and Rico families), and by many close and loved friends. He was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 February 2017, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 Lennox St., Midvale, UT 84047. Noon viewing, 1 PM rosary, 2 PM mass, burial at Midvale City cemetery, 4 PM reception at the church.
