Our angel mother passed in the early morning hours of January 21 in our childhood home with her devoted family gathered around returning the unconditional love with which we were always surrounded. She is survived by her 6 children: Kevin (Marilyn) Simister, James (Dena) Simister, Kurt (Anna) Simister, Melanie (Arnie) Bosworth, Marcie Palmer, Tammy (Ray) Robinson, 23 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and her black kitty "Ticka" who never left her side. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Leon Simister, a grandson, Peter, and a great granddaughter, Emma Rose.
Oh, the joyful reunion with her eternal sweetheart, our larger than life father, Leon Simister, whom she has yearned for since his passing August 28, 2016.
Mere words will never provide an accurate portrait of our priceless mother.
Mom was a dainty red-haired beauty whose genes have been passed down through the generations. Louise grew up in the small town of Henefer where her childhood was filled with riding horses, swimming in the Big Ditch, and playing softball. With her many talents, she could turn virtually any type of material into creative works of art, masterpieces enhancing the lives of the recipients of these beautiful gifts.
Searching our collective memories, we cannot recall a single instance in her life when she spoke ill of anyone, for any reason. Instead, we remember many tears for the suffering of others, and quietly serving as she saw their needs. This is perhaps the greatest tribute we can offer to her Christ-like love for each person she encountered. There was something in each day of her life that the Lord loved. Her great legacy is her shining example of self-sacrifice, forgiveness, kindness, and love of the Savior.
Mom loved her family, art, music, and flowers. She doted on her grandchildren, painted with delicate realism, sang with beautiful harmony, and could turn a few cut flowers into an award winning floral arrangement.
Her life was rich in all the ways that counted. She served for many years teaching music to hundreds of Primary children. She served faithfully in the Ogden Temple as an ordinance worker with our father and along side her two beautiful sisters Thea and Margie. She savored camping with her family and took delight in the small creatures that knew she would feed them, earning trust enough that invited them to eat from her hand.
The family conveys their deep gratitude and love to all family members who sacrificed to care for her, particularly Melanie and Arnie Bosworth for their constant and devoted attention. They also wish to thank the kind friends and neighbors who visited so many times. You know who you are. A special thank you to Canyon Home Health and Hospice particularly Jason, Elsie, Linda and Taylor for your genuine concern and support rendered.
Funeral services will be held at the Coalville Stake Center, 40 N. Main St., Monday, January 27, 2020 at 12:00 noon. There will be a viewing from 10:00 to 11:30 am prior to the funeral. Interment, Henefer Cemetery.
