Our Beautiful beloved mother was called home Sunday night. All of her children by her side. Mom had strength beyond measure and endured to the end.
Lorraine was born on June 22, 1931, in SLC, Utah to Vernon F and Laurenna S. Johnson. She married her Prince charming Rolf Johansen April 29, 1949 in the SLC Temple. They have four children Kristine (Tim) Dumas, Sandra (Mike) Uecker, Paul Johansen (Connie), Grant (Elaine) Johansen. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Lorraine also had a niece and two nephews. Jan Vaden, David Jensen, and Brian Lords. Lorraine was preceded in death by her sister Darlene Jensen Lords.
Mom, Dad and the family loved the 40 years we all spent caravanning up to Jackson Hole and Old Faithful, joking many times mom and dad owned Kudar motel cabin #6 in Jackson Hole. It was their favorite place to stay. Some of Mom's favorite memories were, running the Snake River with dad and the family, always making sure we never lost them while a few of us bounced out a few times. The highlight of her life was to go back to Norway with dad and see his country, the place he was born, Oslo, Norway. They traveled from Copenhagen to Trondheim. Traveling with Grant, Elaine, and their daughters made it even more special. Mom loved it!
She was an artist at painting, had a passion for reading and learning, and was even self-taught on the piano!
She loved her friends, which were many. But Annette, Karren, and David, who were exceptional for over 50 years. Thank you for your love.
Love as we know it now has no definition. Mom, you are extraordinary in every way... to say how much we love you is impossible, but you are truly the "Best Mom Ever."
A viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary, July 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Graveside services at Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, UT, July 31st at 11 am.
