Lloyd Francis Petty passed away on December 5, 2019 at his home in Nephi, Utah. He was born to Lloyd Heber Petty and Lucky Gulford in Cedar City, Utah on July 31, 1949.
He lived in Ely, Nevada until the age of 8 years old when his mother married Blaine Theobald and moved to Hinckley, Utah. He was raised on the farm milking cows, hauling hay and riding horses. He enjoyed this time in his life.
In 1966 he joined the Army, he served 2 years in Vietnam from 1967-1969. After returning home he married his love, Laura Jenkins on June 7, 1969 in Nephi, Utah. They were married 50 years. They had 5 children, Lonnie, Layne (Lynda), Leslie (Mont) Taylor, Chris (Steph) and 8 grandchildren, Maliskea, Langston, Gabi, Ryler, Takisha, Culter, Ryah and Emme.
He was a heavy equipment operator, cement finisher, and worked at the Tooele Army Depot, where he retired. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing with his friends and family. He enjoyed playing his guitar and teaching his kids and grandkids to play. He always liked playing pool with his boys and spending time laughing with them.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, father and mother-in-law, Homer and Ethel Jenkins, daughter, Lisa Marie Petty, sister, Marsha Bishop, brother-in-law, Merrill Jenkins, and nephew, Gordon Jenkins.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at Anderson Funeral Home (94 West 300 North, Nephi, Utah) with a viewing from 10:00 - 10:45. Interment will be at the Levan Town Cemetery with military honors.
