Lloyd Curtis Hill passed away 18 August 2021 in the Littleton Hospital in Littleton, Colorado. He was born 27 July 1934 to George Albert Hill and Velma LaVern Graves Hill at their home in Lake Shore, Utah.
He was a cute little boy who loved being outside with his father. When he was three years old, he went with his father to haul hay. His mother said, "It was hard to work and hard to watch a child. Little Lloyd went up and got his hand in the hay pulley. It burned his little hand. His little fingers were so crooked, but the doctor wrapped them up and sent us home. When he was six years old he spent 5 weeks in the hospital while they grafted skin from his little stomach to his hand." He always had a bent finger on his left hand.
Lloyd always loved his mother and was grateful that she had taken such good care of him. His best friend was his brother Clarence. He loved all of his brothers and sisters. When they got together as grownups, they stayed up late at night talking about politics and religion. He never missed a birthday or a special occasion to at least send his family a card.
Lloyd grew up in Sandy, Utah going to Sandy Elementary, Sandy Jr. High and graduated from Jordan High School in 1952. While in high school he worked as a janitor at the school. Lloyd was always a good worker. He and his brothers helped to care for the cows, pigs and chickens on their small farm and took care of a large garden. When there were beets to thin or top on the Church farm, Lloyd and his brothers were always willing to help.
Lloyd took great care of his home and yard. He spent his summers planting flowers and tomatoes and other good things to eat in his garden. He loved touching mother earth.
On 13 May 1952 he married Joan Beth Olsen in Elko Nevada. They took Lloyd's brother Clarence and Joan's friend Pat to be their witnesses. Lloyd and Joan were blessed to have three sons; Steven, Kevin, and Curtis.
Lloyd joined the Navy and spent a few years there. When he got out of the service he went to college at the University of Utah. He was always a reader and enjoyed history. He graduated with a degree in History and found a job at GMAC, where he worked until he retired.
After 32 years of marriage, he and Joan divorced. Lloyd married Mirtes De Lara Iost on 13 May 1988. Lloyd and Mirtes spent several winters in Brazil with Mirtes' family.
