Linda Lee Jacobson Walbeck completed her mission here on earth and returned to her Heavenly Father Sunday, April 17th, 2016. She began her mission on this earth October 27, 1938, with her parents Phyllis and Virgil Jacobson, who raised her in Sandy, Utah.
Linda graduated from Jordan High School and later attended Utah State University where she was active as a Song Leader, Aggiette, and a member of the Chi Omega sorority.
She married her high school sweetheart, Daryl Walbeck, on September 15, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple.
During her life, Linda was active in civic organizations, serving in the PTA, Draper Boys Baseball, and as an advocate of Pro-Life. She was also very active in her church callings, serving as Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Primary President, and as a Bishop's Wife. In addition, she served five full and part-time missions, including Temple Square, Inner-City Missions, Greater Ohio Columbus Mission, and she was currently serving in the Addiction Recovery Mission. This comprised over 10 years of missionary service. During this time she also served as an ordinance worker in both the Jordan River and Draper Temples.
Though her passing was sudden and unexpected, she leaves a legacy of love and service for her children and all those who knew her. To her family and friends, she was a consistent example of love, joyfulness, and service. She brightened up any room with her presence, greeting everyone with an energetic smile. Linda always made everyone feel welcome, accepted and loved no matter the circumstances, and was always looking for ways to lift the burdens of others. Her home and heart were open to everyone.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Phyllis Jacobson; and is survived by her husband Daryl Walbeck, brother Bruce (Joan) Jacobson, three sons Bradley, Jeffrey (Bonnie), Derek (Nicole), and two daughters Deidre and Amber; five grandchildren, Chelsey (Andrew Belov), McKenna Walbeck, Reggie (Emily) Walbeck, Emmitt Walbeck, and Morgan Walbeck; and two great grandchildren, Schroeder Belov and Wylie Belov.
