Lilly Margo Zenner

Early Sunday afternoon, Opa came and got his beloved wife to return home for a beautiful reunion with many loved ones. Oma was born on December 4, 1920 in Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany. Her parents were Lilly Charlotte Eger and Rudolph Ackermann. She married the love of her life, Erhard Arno Zenner, on December 4, 1948. Oma and Opa, along with their four girls, fled East Germany in 1953 and lived six years in refugee camps in West Germany until they were able to immigrate to the United States of America in January of 1959. Oma worked for Junker Aircraft Military Factory in Dessau, Germany. Oma experienced the highs and lows of life from having had three houses bombed during WWII and losing almost everything to giving up her homeland and coming to America with her husband to raise their loving family in Salt Lake City, Utah. Oma loved shopping, cooking, and crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved her family. Oma is survived by her daughters Sylvia (Steve) Hancock, Ilona Zenner, Barbara (Jim) Pierce, Claudia (Don) Enniss, and their 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Regina (Dave) Jacobson, sister-in-law Jutta Thiel, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Germany. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Ruth Heink, son-in-law Jay Leitner, granddaughter Rebecca Enniss, sister-in-law Irmgard Srgel, and brothers-in-law Tony Thiel, and Rudolf Srgel. Oma, along with Opa, has now become one of many guardian angels for our family! The family thanks the staff at Woodland Parks Royal Grove for taking such exceptional care of Oma during her last weeks. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm and Friday, May 9, 2014 from 10:30am to 11:30am at Aspen Funeral Services, 459 West Universal Circle (9160 South), Sandy, Utah. There will be a private only family graveside service May 9, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Funeral Directors: Aspen Funeral Services, 459 W Universal Circle, Sandy, Utah
