Lelia Rae Lowen, age 77, of Sandy, Utah, passed away on 1-24-19 in West Jordan, Utah, due to complications from pneumonia. She was born on 1-1-1942 in Joplin, Missouri to Mildred Rae Miller and Victor Andrew Lowen. She is the mother of five children, three of which survive her, Rebecca, Robert, and Lowell. Two of her daughters, Victoria and Kathryn, preceded her in death by two years.
She was known for being the center, and guiding force, of a very dynamic and interactive extended family. None of her family were excluded from Gma’s loving influence. She was also known for her love of music, classical and organ, and her peerless cooking. She collected dogs, books, movies, and science fiction memorabilia.
