Lee Alma Workman died of natural causes related to dementia at Intermountain Medical Hospital, Murray, UT, on October 4, 2023. On the day of his death, all five of his children were able to visit him together.

Lee was born in Murray, Utah, on March 24, 1938 to Joseph Alma Workman and Della Palmer Workman. He was the oldest of four siblings: Shauna, Rex, and Karen. He was raised in South Jordan and graduated from Jordan High School. Later, he attended BYU - Provo where he joined the Air Force ROTC and graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. Lee attained the rank of captain while serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was stationed primarily in Germany. After his military service, he was employed as an accountant and ended his career as the head of accounting at BYU - Idaho.

Lee married Myrna LaRue Walker in 1973 in the Salt Lake City Temple and moved to Rexburg, Idaho in 1976 where he spent the rest of his life. Following LaRue’s death in 1977, he married Carol Jean Holyoak in 1979 in the Ogden Utah Temple.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. These included serving as a full-time missionary in Adelaide Australia and as bishop on the Ricks College campus. Lee also served as branch president while on a senior mission with Carol in Hong Kong.

Lee’s true passion in life was loving and serving people. He loved to greet and converse with everyone that he met. He also enjoyed studying the gospel and serving in the temple as much as possible.
