Lee Edward Rasmussen

Our loving father, Lee Edward Rasmussen, 87, passed away peacefully in his home, March 8, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born to LeRoy and Pearl Rasmussen on February 1, 1933 in Ely, Nevada. His childhood was spent in Pinecliff, Utah, and he went on to graduate from North Summit High School in Coalville, Utah.

Dad served his country as an army sharp shooter, training other soldiers at Fort Ord Military Base near Monterey, California. On December 16, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Willoughby. They moved back to Coalville, Utah and later settled in Holladay, Utah.

Dad joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was sealed to his wife and children in the Salt Lake City Temple. He enjoyed serving in the Church, and his testimony was simple- He loved the Lord and He loved being a member of the Church.

Dad worked construction by trade and he delighted in working. In 1967 while working on a home in Salt Lake, a power line arced and the electricity went through his body. He was badly burned, which resulted in the loss of movement in his right hand and left him permanently disabled.

Dad bore his pains with courage and an amazing spirit. He loved his home and took great pride in his gardens and his handiwork. He loved his family and most of all our mother. We will miss him deeply.

Like Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7.

Dad fought a good fight, He finished his course and he kept the faith.

Lee is survived by his wife, Beverly (Willoughby), his children LeeAnn Rudd (Lee), Coalville, UT, Danny Rasmuseen (Lynda), Sandy, UT, Brett Rasmussen (Joni), Coalville, UT, Suzanne Beck (Reed), Midway, UT, Lisa Whitney (Chris), Salt Lake City, UT, Cody Rasmussen (Kami), Seattle, WA, 21 Grandchildren and 45 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Potter and granddaughter Tiffany Rasmussen.

As a family we would like to thank all those who have kindly and graciously taken care of Dad. Maria Morales, Jennifer Woods as well as Lighten Home Health & Hospice.

A viewing will be held Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:00 am with funeral services to follow at 11:30 am in the Holladay 28th Ward building, 2625 Milo Way, Holladay, Utah 84117.

Interment, Coalville Cemetery, Coalville, UT.
