Lee Owen Marshall passed away of heart failure at his home in Midvale, Utah, on April 2, 2020. Owen was born on September 26, 1958, on his Grandpa Owen's birthday. He was the first son of Joseph Clyde Marshall and Dorothy Claire Bullock.
Owen was a cowboy from the beginning. He loved rocking in a red rocking chair and on his red rocking horse. He grew up listening to Tex Ritter, Jimmy Dean and other "oldies" that his mother had accumulated. When he was younger, Owen had the Jimmy Dean song "I.O.U" played on the radio and dedicated it to his mom.
Owen attended Sherman and Rosecrest Elementary, Evergreen Jr. High and Olympus High in Salt Lake City, where he loved working with his hands in shop and auto mechanics. He graduated from Olympus in 1977.
After high school, he worked for several years with the Andersons at Diamond Bar X Ranch in Woodland, Utah. His dog Montana travelled back and forth with him. He owned two horses in his life: Pal and Big Pal.
He quit the ranch when he married Sherry Lynn Jensen on December 30, 1981, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married in an L.D.S. chapel by the ward Bishop. They had three children, a stillborn baby girl, Martin Lee and Andrew Lynn. They were divorced shortly after Drew was born.
After working at the ranch, Owen got a job at Karmen Kitchens where he worked for almost twenty years building and painting kitchen cabinets. He then worked in the custodial department at several different schools in Granite School District. His latest assignment was at Olympus High School. He also worked with a good friend Jaqueline Van Etten cleaning several commercial buildings including Dave's Health and Nutrition.
His graveside service will be held on April 9, 2020, where he will be buried in the family plot at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Owen is survived by his two sons Martin Lee Marshall and Andrew Lynn Marshall and his five siblings: Helen (George K.) Small, Carol (Scott) Nelson, Kathy (Sean) MacGregor, Karl (Iara) Marshall and Ilene McClellan.
