West Jordan, Utah - Lee Hamilton Hickman, Jr., our loving Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Friend, was welcomed back into the arms of his loving Heavenly Father on August 19, 2021, at the age of 83, after the extended challenges of Parkinson's Disease.
Lee was born in Murray, Utah on January 19, 1938 to Lee Hamilton Hickman, Sr. and Bessie Elizabeth McMullin. He was the youngest of five siblings, and grew up in the Sandy, Salt Lake City and Murray areas. He graduated from Murray High School, where he met and married Joan Smith. They were the parents of four daughters, Lori, Annette, Carolyn and Lisa. Lee was later married to Marian Jaussi and in his senior years he married Barbara Parker.
His early career was spent in the banking industry, as a computer processor and technical writer. He later graduated from Weber State University, obtaining a teaching degree. He enjoyed teaching Geography at Kaysville Jr. High School.
Lee was a great lover of classical music and learned to play the cello. He enjoyed playing duets with his oldest daughter. He was an organized person, who enjoyed having a beautiful yard and owning a new car. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a loyal servant of our Savior, Jesus Christ and held many callings. He served a Stake Mission in Sandy, Utah and was a thoughtful and dedicated Gospel Doctrine Teacher. He had a great love of the scriptures and enjoyed many hours studying them.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beth, brother Lane, of Bountiful, Utah; brother Neal,
of Phoenix, AZ; sister Janice Margetts (Phillip), of Salt Lake City, Utah; wife Barbara Parker; and grandson Nicholas Allan Hall. He is survived by daughters, Lori Beth Utley (Steven) of West Jordan, UT; Annette Lehman (Kurt) of Silver City, NM; Carolyn Steadman (Kyle), of Canby, OR; and Lisa Hall (Allan) of Sandy, UT; wives Joan Martinez and Marian Jaussi; sisters-in-law June and Flore; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ward House, 8825 So. 1095 W., West Jordan, Utah from 10 am to 12 noon, followed by a Graveside Service at 12:30 pm at the Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah.
