Leah R. Henderson

Leah Rayola Henderson was born on July 11, 1928, in Riverton, Utah to Eva and Leonard Lovendahl. She spent her youth on the family farm and later married Ross Henderson on April 11, 1951, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Leah and Ross had 2 sons, Ralph L and Jeffrey Ross, which they raised in Midvale, Utah. She passed away peacefully on June 27, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Leah is survived by her son, Jeffrey Henderson (Kathy), daughter-in-law, Janet Henderson, 7 grandchildren–Julie Flade (Jamie), Brian Henderson, Erik Henderson (Lindsay) and Candace Hilton (Jim), Mark Henderson (Amanda), Melissa Tau’a (Gabe), and Aaron Henderson. She also was blessed with 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Lenard, husband Ross, son Ralph, as well as her siblings–Elvin, Melba, and LaRuel.

Leah led a full life and touched many lives. If you stopped by for a visit you couldn’t leave without her feeding you. She had a great love for her family, but her second greatest love was golf. She had a green thumb and kept an immaculate garden. She enjoyed outings to the Uintahs to bask in the sun while she had a line in the lake.

She was the calm before the storm. She was a guardian angel, a grandmother with a brilliant mind. She was the brightest light in the darkest times. She was a friend, a friend to all. She was a hero to those in need of guidance.

And heroes never die.

Graveside services will be Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 12:00 pm in Riverton City Cemetery, 1500 West 13200 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The family extends a special thanks to Gio from Charter Healthcare and Hospice for her kindness and loving care.
