LaWana Allred Stanley, a life-long resident of Utah, passed away with her family by her side at the Payson Bennion Veterans Home in Payson, Utah on January 17, 2019 at the age of 85.

She was a faithful and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

LaWana was born on March 19, 1933 in Fountain Green, Utah to Alden Carter Allred and Mada Gee Allred. She married James Leroy Stanley on August 13, 1949. They later sealed their marriage in the Manti Temple. They raised 3 children together.

LaWana is survived by her daughters Lila (Vance) Marshall of Salem, Utah, and Carol Ann Stanley of Nephi, sister ZoAnn (Eldon) Belliston of Nephi, Utah, grandchildren Dylan (Christine) Woten of Elko, Nevada, Meloney (Rodney) Nelson of Roosevelt, Utah, Tony (Patrica) Sandberg of Orem, Utah, Kevin (Jill) Woten of Elko, Nevada, Yancey (Leroy) Valenzuela of Payson, Utah, Shannie Cook (Don) Lehi, Utah, Mindy Allen (Scott) of Levan, Utah, and Kallie Cook (Rick) of Nephi, Utah, and many, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

LaWana lived her life gardening, canning, sewing, camping, hunting and fishing. She was a hard working woman as she worked at the Nephi Food Bank until her death.

She was loved by many and will be missed terribly. Her family reunions meant so much to her as time spent with each and everyone. She was a loving person and always had open arms for a warm hug.

She is preceded in death by her husband James LeRoy Stanley, son Alden LeRoy Stanley, brother Don G. Allred, parents Alden Carter and Mada Allred, and great grandson Pat Valenzuela.

Her family gives a special thanks to the Payson Bennion Veterans Home and staff and Central Valley Medical Center for taking such great care of LaWana.

There will be a viewing at the Anderson Funeral Home in Nephi, Utah from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21st. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 22nd at the Vine Bluff Cemetery.
