Our wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, LaVaughna Jean Welch, age 61, passed away July 19, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
LaVaughna was born on October 25, 1955 in Cortez, Colorado to Lewis Laval Willden and Dorothy Ann Randall Willden.
LaVaughna graduated from Viewmont High School, class of 1973. She played the clarinet and was in the marching band.
LaVaughna married Utah Welch on November 25, 1979 at Fort Lewis in Washington. LaVaughna and Utah have two sons, Michael Pierre and Curtis Lynn. LaVaughna and Utah are soulmates, best friends. Utah will miss her deeply. LaVaughna for sure will have a bacon cheeseburger waiting for him.
LaVaughna was a very giving, caring and gracious lady whom loved her family and was always there for them, never letting them down. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
LaVaughna loved life, and overcame a lot of obstacles, always with a positive attitude. She never gave up even if the odds were against her. Her favorite pastime was to always help or be there for her family or friends, she loved to sit and visit with them. LaVaughna loved going to ‪Wendover whenever she could. She simply loved life and was taken away to soon from her family.
LaVaughna is survived by her husband Utah Welch, sons Michael (Melanie) and Curtis (Rose), grandchildren Hayden/Brock, Ferra Dawn, mother Dorothy, sisters Valarie, Bonnie Lewis (Bill), Beverly K Freeman (Karl), brothers LaVal/Buzzy (Pam), Jarrid (Julie), Shaun (Brett). Preceded in death by father Lewis LaVal, sister Linda Sue Goff, brothers Lewis Edward, Gregory Scott, David Cordele.
LaVaughna will be DEARLY MISSED.
Funeral services will be held ‪Wednesday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, ‪8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah.
Graveside services will be held ‪Friday, July 28, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mancos, Colorado.
