Laurie Farrell passed away peacefully in Murray, Utah on August Ninth at the age of 69. Laurie was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley where she graduated from Jordan High School. She chose to remain here in marriage and in raising her family. Laurie endeavored in several career paths, most recently retiring as a benefits coordinator for the State of Utah.
All those who know Laurie will forever remember her capacity to open her heart and door to those in need, giving fully despite any challenges facing herself. Her strength, laughter, emotion, and energy in a room was always the light for others. Laurie enjoyed her many jaunts with family and friends to the Bingo Hall or Wendover where she was known to “hold court” to see everyone had a wonderful time.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Gary Farrell, sons Chad Farrell and Ryan Slaymaker, brothers, and sister Blaine Goulding (Tawna), Lisa Morey (Mike), and Shaun Goulding, grandchildren Zaylisyanna Olsen, Ryan Slaymaker Jr., Jordan Slaymaker, Levi Leiataua, her many nieces and nephews, along with countless friends. Laurie is preceded in death by her father Terry Goulding and mother Juanita Fox, daughters Mistica Griffiths, Tiffany Farrell, and granddaughter Corianna Solorio.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 16th at 2 pm, at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, UT 84047.
The family wishes to extend our profound gratitude to the staff at Intermountain and Promise Hospitals who have given so much in providing care for Laurie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be considered for organizations helping with hunger, housing, healthcare, and mental health services for those in need.
