Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Laura Lyle Fairbourn Kimball passed away at the age of 88 on May 11, 2018, with her family by her side in Murray, Utah. She will be missed by many loved ones.

Laura was a selfless, strong woman with a kind, loving heart. Her personality was as sweet as her famous chocolate cake, beautiful as the flowers she admired, and as fun as her polka dot shirts and bright pink lipstick. Laura had a passion for art and a special appreciation for nature, she would express her love of God's creations through oil painting, flower arranging and gardening. Laura was born on Sept. 12, 1929 in Granger, Utah to Abner B and Laura Cahoon Fairbourn. After graduating from Cyprus High School, she moved to San Diego, California, married Donald G. Kimball, and raised their children in Poway, California. She enjoyed being a member of the LDS Church and served in various callings; some of her favorites were serving as a temple worker in the San Diego Temple, church service missionary, and chorister.

Laura is survived by her children Clay (Shirley) Kimball, Kim (Melanie) Kimball, LaDon Kemple, Lauren (Shauna) Kimball, Dale Kimball, Miriam Kimball, Elaine Kimball, and Hollie (Douglas) Newton. She is also survived by her half-brothers, Bernie and Gary, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents, her brother Kent, her son-in-law Arthur, and her grandson Robert.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the viewing Thursday, May 17, 2018, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Belview Ward, 300 E. 6300 S. in Murray, Utah; funeral services will be held immediately after at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Murray City Cemetery.
