Our sweet Mother, LaRue S. Kreek, slipped from this Mortal World, Sunday, May 31, 2020, in South Jordan, UT.

Born Leola LaRue Simmons, March 30, 1931, in Charleston, UT, to Joseph William and Idona Nielson Simmons, the eldest of twelve children.  She shared many fun childhood experiences.

LaRue graduated from Wasatch High School, Class of '49.  She married Kenneth Elwood Gotberg September 11, 1952.  Together they had six children.  Kenny died July 11, 1973.  She married Thomas O. Kreek July 23, 1974.  Tom passed away September 2, 1998.

An accomplished seamstress, many enjoy the love, warmth, and comfort of her creations - especially quilts.

Retired from Food Services/Jordan School District.  Volunteered several years as Loan Officer for Jordan Credit Union.  Fulfilled a mission at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

LaRue is survived by her children - Randall (Shauna), Richard (Cynthia), Trent (Cathy) Gotberg, Lynnette G. Moore; step-son James Robert (Stephanie) Kreek; granddaughters and great grandchildren.  Also survived by her sisters - Wilma (Linden) Maxfield, Pauline S. Peterson, Sheral (Ted) Taylor, Joyce (Dale) Giles, Jolene Cox; brother-in-law Roy (Kathy) Kendall; sisters-in-law - Judy Z. Simmons, Edith Gotberg, Martha Gotberg and each of their respective families.

Preceded in death by her parents; sisters - Rhea Johnson, Maureen Kendall; brothers - Sheron William, Karl D., Niel Junior and Craig J. Simmons; brother-in-law Ron Cox; son-in-law Michael William Moore; son Scott Kerwynn Gotberg; infant daughter LeAnn Gotberg.

Graveside service Wednesday, June 3, 2020 - 10:00 am; Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.  Condolences may be offered at this website ( www.goffmortuary.com ).
