Larene Park

Our dear Mom, Eva LaRene Park, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017 at the Laurel Groves Assisted Living facility in Nephi, Utah. Her seven years of battling Alzheimer's finally took her life. She tried hard to maintain her dignity throughout this disease. She was born September 27, 1935 in Wellsville, Utah to Thomas Murray Stuart and Eva Furness. She has two brothers, Keith Stuart (Donnetta) and Robert (Anita); one sister Iva (DeWayne). LaRene is survived by her husband, Grant; daughters Vicki (Gaylen), Pam, Lori (Dan), Terri (Kim); sons, Michael Dee Allen, Robert (Melizza), Steve (Tammi), Brett (Kathy) and Chris (Barbara). LaRene has 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Proceeded in death by her parents, Thomas (Sally) Stuart and Eva (Mac) McCulley, and brother Keith Stuart.

Our mother's journey wasn't always an easy one. She had six children and gained three more wonderful kids through her marriage to Grant Park of 42 years. Our mother did her best with the resources she had acquired as a young woman trying to raise her children at times alone. She was a hard worker and showed her family that through determination to achieve her education later in life, she could accomplish anything. She knew how to handle her kids with her sheer grit, determination and feistiness. Her children knew she was there for them; even when it was with "tough love." She was the type of mother who played and ran with her children, keeping them out of trouble by involving them in sports. She was a busy woman who never sat still; her children were rushed along from one thing to another. Raising her children was no easy task; she often played the role of referee between her children trying to keep peace.

Mother was kind and sweet to all those who knew her. Her love of her family was evident in all that she did to help her family and extended family. Mother loved her children and grandchildren; her family was the most important thing in her life. Probably her greatest attribute that she displayed was her ability to get along with people; she did not have an enemy. Her retirement days were spent with Grant; traveling, golfing and reading. She loved to take walks especially when the family was in town. Our mother was always thinking about making other people happy in her life. She also gave back to her community by volunteering for various organizations in the St. George area. There are so many wonderful memories of our mother that we cherish beyond measure. In the end, we knew she loved us. We will miss this wonderful and beautiful woman who meant so much to us. Rest in peace Mother, until we meet again.

We would like to thank all the caregivers and family members who helped and assisted our mother throughout her difficult years with this disease. She was always in good hands.

Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North in Nephi, Utah at 12:00 pm. Viewing will be at 11:00 am prior to the services. Interment following the funeral services at Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
