Lance Blood Sr. was born on May 5th, 1966 in Boise Idaho. He sadly passed on March 23rd, 2024 while waiting for a liver transplant. He is preceded in death by his father Bert Blood and survived by the love of his life Holly, his sons Lance (Abby), Tyler (Brielle), CJ (Brieanna) and daughters Callie (Eric) and Catie (Jared), and eight grandchildren Livia, Aleena, Ajay, Adayah, Oakley, Shaddix, Cooper, and Hawkins.
He lived his days in Salt Lake City, Utah where he attended Highland High School. He enjoyed all sports (except Soccer, because it is not a sport). After graduating from high school, he entered the Navy where he made many friends while serving on the USS Kitty Hawk from 1984-1989.
Lance loved to spend his time on the baseball field not only as a dad, but as a coach and at the bowling alley. He spent many weekends traveling to many different bowling tournaments to compete where he met many friends that he enjoyed spending time with. He also loved to travel to San Diego where he would meet up with his friends from the Navy fleet to reminisce on their time served.
We would like to say a special thank you to the University of Utah Medical ICU staff, the transplant team and the VA for their care and compassion while Lance was hospitalized.
To honor Lance’s memory, we will be holding a celebration of his life on April 20th, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 State St, Midvale UT, 84047.
