Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and dear friend, Lamont Pearce, 94, peacefully passed away on March 28, 2017. He was born Dec. 8, 1922 in Paradise, Utah to Robert E. and Mary Jane Pearce.
Lamont served three years in the Navy during World War II, and graduated from Utah State University. He was married to his sweetheart, Donna Lue Corbett for 68 years. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Lamont was a school teacher for the Jordan School District for 33 years. Wherever he went, he was recognized and loved by students whose lives he had touched. Lamont was a devout and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many positions. He particularly loved his time spent as a Stake Missionary.
He loved spending time fishing, gardening, and managing his egg business. Lamont was also an avid Utah Jazz fan. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Donna; their children: Steven (Karen), Rodney (Trudy), John (Jill), Bonnie (Jerry) Clark, Carolyn (Layne) Thorup, his sister Venice Penman, 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and grandson Tyler Pearce.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Sandy 1st Ward Chapel, 8670 S. 220 E. Sandy, Utah at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to services at the church from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Paradise Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. A special thanks goes to the loving care provided by the Beehive Home of Draper and Heartwood Home Health Care.
