Lalah Sue Matheson

Lalah Sue Anderson Matheson, 94, passed away at home on Sunday, January 1, 2017. She was born in Moroni, Utah, on June 21, 1922, to Raphael Mads and Susannah Blackham Anderson.

Lalah graduated with high honors from the University of Utah, majoring in English and Music. She was teaching school in Long Beach, California, when she reconnected with James Matheson, with whom she fell in love and married on March 22, 1948, in the Mesa Temple. They were married for 62 wonderful years.

Lalah was a talented musician and directed many wonderful choirs throughout her life. Her wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Lalah was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She and Jim served temple missions in the Atlanta, Chicago and Provo Temples.

She was preceded in death by her husband James, her infant son James, and her siblings Burke, Rheta, and Ellen.

She is survived by her brother John Anderson (Carla); her children David, Susanna Kemp (Paul), Carolyn Thorne, Julie Pabst (Craig), Donald, and Colleen Tuttle (Todd); 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Anderson & Goff Mortuary at 11859 S. 700 E., Draper, UT on Friday, January 6, at 11:00 am, viewing from 10:00-10:45 am. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery at 3:30 pm.
