Kim was born on July 14, 1956 to loving parents, Rex Bennion Lybbert and Marilyn Jensen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away on May 20, 2017 from chronic liver disease.
Kim attended school in Sandy and graduated from Jordan High School in 1974. He also attended Utah State University. He married Darlene Smith in 1980 and later divorced.
Kim had a great love of the outdoors spending much time hiking and walking in the mountains of Utah and Colorado along with visiting state and national parks. His employment included being a skilled baker, photo development, quality control, manufacturing and electronic sales. His hobbies included photography, motorcycle riding, reading, watching movies and listening to music from his vast collection of CDs across many genres.
Kim is survived by his sister Lynnette and her husband Jamie Beers, his four lovely nieces, Melanie (Lance) Wilson, Annalyn Beers, Natasha (Nathan) Killpack, and Vanessa (Marc) Glover.
Kim is preceded in death by his twin brothers, Kenneth Rex and Brent Christian whose sojourn here was only one day, and his parents, Rex Bennion Lybbert and Marilyn Jensen.
Although Kim's hope for a liver transplant never came to fruition he greatly appreciated the kindness, care and help he received from the Wal-Mart transplant team coordinators, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas coordinators, the pre-transplant staff at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona, and the staff at the Liver Clinic at the University of Utah. Much gratitude and appreciation goes to Dr. Philip Roberts and his staff for the many years of care and treatment for Kim.
Many thanks from Kim, Lynnette and Jamie goes to Rocky Mountain Care Center, their staff and nurses and the Rocky Mountain Hospice team with their assistance with end of life care.
