Kim Marie (Gordon) Hooser, age 53, passed away on March 21, 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT. Kim was born on April 12, 1962 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was the daughter of Lynn James Gordon and Marie S. Gordon.
Kim had the most contagious laugh of anyone that we have ever known. You could always track her down just by following the sound of her laughing or listening to others laugh because you knew she was nearby. She would laugh in the best situations and in the hardest situations. Not only did she have a contagious laugh but she also had a contagious smile. Anytime you saw her smiling (which was all the time) you knew that it was real and coming from her heart. No one could fake a smile like hers. Her smile could warm the coldest room. She always gave the very best hugs and it didn't matter who you were, if you needed a hug she was right there to give you one. She was always hugging anyone that needed one. Most times you would see her hugging her youngest, McKenzie. They could speak to each other without saying a word.
She never missed a chance to tell you that she loved you, even if we weren't going anywhere or doing anything. We were always being told how much she loved us. Because of all the unconditional love that she had to give she would always become the neighborhood mom.
She always looked at life as the glass half full. In all of her hardships she always had the most positive attitude. From the time that her body started giving out on her she would say, "It always could be worse, there are people out there that have it worse than me." From her first toe amputation to her tenth toe amputation she always just keep on going, because to her, sickness could take her toes, her mobility, and most of her independence but it could not take her go get it, always positive, loving, giving, funny, and happy outlook on life. She never for a split second allowed her pain to defeat her. Every time that she was in a lot of pain "which was all the time" she would focus on a part of her body that wasn't hurting at that time.
Once she started losing her independence she would always ask us how our day was. Even if she had the worst day ever she always wanted to know about us. She would say "everything is OK, I just get to live through you girls now." And that is exactly what she did. She has always been the best example of living life to the fullest, no matter what her situation was. She will always be our rock, strength, best friend, and our hero. Everything good in us we got from our mother.
Kim throughout her entire life found joy in many different things, such as taking her grandkids on shopping trips, watching movies with them in her room, giving the babies rides on her wheel chair, and letting the older ones drive themselves. Wrecking chasing, watching her kids ice slide, camping, playing cards, watching cooking shows, crocheting, mobile home looking, going for a ride up the canyon. Playing Bingo, drinking Diet Coke, eating popcorn, and meeting new people. Just to mention a few.
You now have your legs mom, so you can make up for all the dancing that was not possible here on earth. I bet it is so nice in heaven now that you have arrived.
Kim is survived by her loving mother Marie S. Gordon (Salt Lake City), her daughters Amy Dotson (Jim Dotson), Shylo Bseiso (Nate Bseiso), Shantele Kofoed (Trinity Kofoed), and McKenzie Davis (Matt Davis). She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Raymond Kynaston, Suzie Kofoed, Eve Bseiso, Willow Kynaston, Leo Kofoed, Logan Davis, and Linkin Davis, brother Terry Giles, niece Cerise Tucker, nephew Tony Giles (Ashley Giles), great nieces Jayden Giles and Marie Elena Tucker, great nephew Braxton Giles, and many, many friends.
