Kim F. Atkinson passed away January 22, 2021 leaving a hole in our hearts. He was born on May 26, 1982 to Kim Atkinson and Tama Frantz Hixson in Salt Lake City Utah. He was a lifelong resident of Francis, Utah graduating from South Summit HIgh in 2000. From an early age he was an amazing caregiver to his father taking him to the cafe in Kamas at 5 am and returning to pick him up and take him home before school at 8 am. He started working at an early age in construction, building his first home when he was just 18 while working a full time job. He had many skills and was a talented fabricator and operator in the line industry.
He accomplished more in his short 38 years than most people do in a lifetime. He was an accomplished horseman, breaking horses and team roping with his mentor Rusty Webster. Although he had no children of his own, he was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews, taking his oldest niece Allie McNeil on the back roads of Kamas, teaching her how to drive a stick shift for hours at a time.
He believed his success was not his own but shared with others. He didn't want to leave anyone behind. No one could have a better friend than Kimmy and his friends were numerous. He was kind and loving, he would greet you with a hug and smile (and if you were lucky enough, a kiss). He was willing to help anyone in need and checked on his grandmothers, family and friends.
He is survived by his four legged companion and very best friend, Tess, his mother Tama and stepfather Reynold Hixson, 4 brothers and 2 sisters Kortney (Brittaney) Atkinson, Kasey (Autumn) Atkinson, Renny Hixson, Todd (Brandie) Hixson, Nicole Hixson Steele, Renee Hixson Music, grandmothers LaDene Atkinson and Loraine Frantz, 8 nieces and 8 nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins (he was truly blessed).
He is preceded in death by his father Kim, grandfathers Duane Atkinson and Reed Frantz, a cousin Dillon Frantz, and all of his great grandparents who he was fortunate to know.
A viewing will be held on January 26th from 6 pm to 8 pm and January 27th from 10 am to 11 am at Rusty Websters, 1771 South State Road 32 in Francis, Utah, followed by graveside service at the Francis Cemetery, returning to Rusty's for a Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Guide Dogs for the blind at donations@guidedogs.com or a charity of your choice.
