Kevin David Dickson, 35, passed away on September 23, 2016 at his residence in Salt Lake City, UT.
Kevin was born on February 23, 1981 in Houston, TX. He spent his childhood in Texas and Oklahoma. He attended Klein High School in Spring, TX, and graduated from Brighton High School in Salt Lake City, UT. He was an Eagle Scout and served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Illinois Peoria Mission.
Kevin had a brilliant and inquisitive mind, and was somewhat of a polymath. Always a voracious reader, he loved studying any and all subjects, but especially philosophy, sociology and astronomy. As an adult, he made Utah his home, working primarily in the restaurant industry. Kevin was a talented musician and songwriter. He had a rich baritone voice and played both the guitar and piano. His deep love for music and learning sustained him throughout his life.
Kevin was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He had a tender heart, especially regarding his family and friends. Although a deep thinker, Kevin had a quick wit and a fun, quirky sense of humor. He was forever cracking jokes and looking at the funny side of life. He loved Christmas traditions, would easily tear up during sentimental movies, and couldn't resist puppy-eyes from children or dogs. Kevin knew what it meant to struggle and empathized with those down on their luck. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him well.
Kevin is survived by his parents, David and Marilyn Dickson of Spokane WA, his sisters, Cassidy Lundgren of Phoenix, AZ and Madeline Dickson, a student in Provo, UT, his brother-in-law, Grant Lundgren, his three nieces and one nephew, and grandparents, in Boise, ID and Las Vegas, NV.
