Kenneth L. Faulkner

After enduring for years the restricting chains of vascular dementia and other health issues, Kenneth Lavern Faulkner, 79, passed away at his home on October 4, 2018. Ken was born July 3, 1939, in Toppenish, Washington, to Lawrence Everett Faulkner and Violet Nevada (Johnnie) Pickett Faulkner. Ken spent his growing up years in Toppenish, where, from a very early age, he helped his father on the farm and enjoyed life in the rural atmosphere. He then went on to attend Brigham Young University, graduating with a degree in Business Management. Ken served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission.

He spent the major part of his career in the banking industry, working at banks in Seattle, Washington, Bandon, Oregon, and concluding his career at Zion's Bank in Salt Lake City. Ken received his greatest enjoyment in life by spending time with his family. Other interests included traveling, reading, and doing volunteer service including at the Utah State Prison and in the baptistry in the Jordan River and Draper Temples.

Ken is survived by his wife, Shannon Rasmussen Faulkner, and his daughters, Deborah (Douglas) Christensen and Angie (Michael) Davis. He will be greatly missed by his four granddaughters, Mikaela, Alyssa, and Brianna Christensen and Ramona Davis and his grandson, Percy Davis. Ken is also survived by his brothers, David (Patricia), and Kevin, and his sisters, Darla Elder and Karren Hill. Two other young women who were exchange students with the family but whom he considered as daughters are Aicholpon Jorepkova of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and Agata Safranova, originally from Turkmenistan but now of London, England.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13th, at 12:00 noon at the Draper 7th Ward building, 12300 South 600 East, Draper, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, October 12th from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services, both at the church. Burial will take place in the Draper, Utah Cemetery.
