Kelsey Michelle Gurr

Kelsey Michelle Gurr, 25, of West Jordan passed away December 4, 2014 after she fought a courageous battle against Lymphoma. Kelsey was born on June 30, 1989 in Ogden, Utah to Joel and Shellie Gurr. Kelsey grew up in Roy, Utah and enjoyed dancing and tumbling as a little girl then later moved to West Jordan, Utah. She attended West Jordan High School where she found passion playing on the lacrosse team and also earned her certified nursing assistant certificate (CNA). Starting at age sixteen she has worked in nursing homes and home health care where she compassionately cared for the needs of others. Kelsey was a chosen spirit sent here by our Heavenly Father to be a light unto others. She was full of smiles, laughter and
unconditional love.

Kelsey married and lived the last five years in Spanish Fork, Utah where her greatest joy in life was being a mother to an energetic autistic boy. He was the greatest light and joy of her life. After a second pregnancy and delivering a healthy baby girl, T-cell Lymphoma and HLH cancer was discovered in Kelsey which took her life eight weeks later. Kelsey loved spending all of her free time with her family and will be greatly missed.

Kelsey is survived by two children, Kaiden (4) and Kaizley (2 months); parents, Joel (Marie) Gurr and Shellie Gurr; siblings, Katie Gurr, Hollie (Shawn) Lott, Dallin Gurr, Tyvan Kenyon. Preceded in death by step-brother, Treck Kenyon and two cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the River 6th Ward, 7380 S. 1300 W., West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to funeral service, at the church. Interment, West Jordan Cemetery. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the staff and nurses at both IMC and LDS Hospital that cared for Kelsey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to America First Credit Union under "Kelsey Gurr Charitable Fund."
