Kelly Doyle Coombs

Kelly Doyle Coombs, beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 7, 2019 at his home while surrounded by his family after his battle with cancer.

Kelly was born May 4th, 1963 to Doyle and Ann Coombs in Nephi, UT. He graduated from Juab High School as an accomplished wrestler and football player. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Jamie Sperry, on August 6th, 1982 in the LDS Jordan River Temple. Together, they raised four children, Jenna, Chett, Camee, and Hayden, in Nephi, UT.

Kelly loved classic trucks, motorcycles, dogs, custom semi-trucks, and putting chrome on everything he drove. He served in the Utah National Guard and in many callings in the LDS church. He helped his father build a successful business, Doyle's Diesel, and spent his career as a mechanic and heavy-machinery operator. He lived a life of service and sacrifice, touching the lives of many local community members and strangers he met while working as a mechanic. He always seemed to find someone that needed a helping hand, whether it be driving a stranger to Los Angeles or providing meals to people in need.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Jamie, of 37 years; children: Jenna (Jerry) Shepherd, Chett (Trisha) Coombs, Camee (Kade) Brough, and Hayden (McKenzie) Coombs; parents, Doyle and Ann Coombs; parents-in-law, Jim and Dixie Sperry; siblings: KC (Sherry) Coombs, Patsy Ragle, Khristie (Perry) Allred, Tawhnye (Randy) Evans, Torry (Tina) Coombs, Roger Sperry, Curg (Carleen) Sperry, Jared (Carla) Sperry; and 10 grandchildren, who loved their Papa Kelly: Jhet, Karsen, Waycee, Caydence, Brooklyn, Lucy, Hannah, Remee, Sunee, and Hudson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nephi 2nd Ward building, 222 S 100 E, Nephi, UT 84648. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening at Anderson Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church.
