On December 14, 2021, Kellan Adam Clemans Anderson lost his brief, but intense battle with mental illness and departed this Earthly life surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving parents Jessica and Spencer Anderson (mother, adopted father) and their children, siblings Aidan (Marron), Alex, Scott, Eliza, Blythe, Joli, Amelia, and Case. Also survived by John Clemans (father) and children Terra, Kale, and Malia, as well as grandparents Diane and Wm. Michael Schone, Dorothy O. Anderson, Alice W. Clemans, and Martin Clemans, not to mention a large host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Magnolia, brother Andrew, and grandfather Bruce Anderson.
Kellan was born in 2002 in Salt Lake City, and grew up in Provo and Eagle Mountain. For nearly 20 years he touched the lives of so many! Kellan was remarkably charitable to others, and so determined to reach his personal goals. At home he was a stoic, introverted person. But he dearly loved and nurtured his siblings. He performed endless service for his family from doing hard labor in the yard, to helping his great aunt move, to teaching music to his little sisters. Among his peers Kellan was fun-loving and the life of the group. More importantly he was a friend to everyone, especially those who needed inclusion.
Kellan's accomplishments in music and academics were impressive! He taught himself how to play at least 10 instruments. He composed a symphony, wrote volumes of rock music, won an award for music composition, performed in numerous bands and orchestras, was selected as the guitarist for the 2020 All-State Jazz Band, and toured as far south as Mexico-all before graduating high school. He got excellent grades and was well liked by his teachers. He graduated from Westlake High School as an honor roll student during a global pandemic, then went on to attend the University of Utah where he shifted his focus to business and made the Dean's List.
Much of Kellan's success was due to his incredible work ethic. Nobody else could work as hard as him, physically or mentally. He sustained his effort with intense focus, pushing himself to accomplish seemingly impossible goals. Whether it be in music, academics, business, or whatever he did, he elevated the performance of those around him!
In addition to working for his friends at Hadco Construction, Kellan was an avid entrepreneur, always researching and testing ideas for new businesses. Kellan enjoyed the outdoors and hunting with his Grandpa Schone. In church Kellan sang so beautifully and even joined the choir. He participated in youth and priesthood organizations in such a way that brought out the best in others. He was very insightful in the gospel for one so young. Most of all, Kellan loved to read and learn and study about all the things that interested him!
We will miss our dear boy but look forward to the day we are reunited in God's presence and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ. God be with you 'til we meet again, Kellan. We love you!
