Kayle J. Johnson

In the early morning hours of August 29, 2021, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, Kayle J. Johnson, peacefully returned home to his Heavenly Father, following a brief illness. Kayle was born May 31,1959, in Provo, Utah to Jay and Alta Mae Johnson. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a child, Kayle loved being outdoors, playing football, baseball, skiing, and scouting. He attained the rank of Life Scout. Kayle graduated from Arapahoe High School in Littleton, Colorado, after which he attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. Kayle's adventures as a young man took him all throughout the Western United States, including Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and California. Often his adventures included fishing and hunting. In December 1988, he married the love of his life, Rhonda Lynn. They settled in Nephi, Utah and were blessed with a large family.

Kayle had a great passion for business and will be remembered for the special interest he took in his employees. Throughout his life, Kayle enjoyed sports of every sort, but he was an especially avid Utah Jazz fan. He relished spending time in his garden, tending to his peppers, from which he would create his world-renowned habanero and ghost pepper salsa! His greatest joy, however, was his wife and family. Kayle looked forward to annual trips to Yellowstone where he loved communing with nature, photographing wildlife, and watching the cubs at Bear World-all with the people he loved most.

Kayle is survived by his adoring wife, Rhonda; his five stepchildren, Derek Kay, Misty (Juston) Palmer, Darci (Kortney) Leavitt, Dustin (Lisa) Kay, Mandy (Alex) Hansen; his grandchildren, Brayden, Shelby, Kassidy, Macee, Kayden, Kyson, Rylee, Ryder, Ruger, Riggs, Joey, Gus, Colqui, A'va, Sasha, Soren, Remi, Rilyn; his great- grandchildren, Birklie, Breckelle, Weslyn; his parents; his sisters, Sherron (Larry) Kendrick, Hollie Johnson, Monique (Tony) Gunn; and his beloved and loyal Yorkie, Sassy.

Kayle was greeted in heaven by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins; yet those of us who cherish his memory here will always hold dear his gentle, kind influence. Details of the memorial service will be forthcoming.
