Mom was born January 29, 1952 in Midvale, Utah to James Leo Kemp and Lucille Lafferty Kemp.
Mom graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1970.
She went on to work in the OBGYN field for 40 years as a medical assistant.
She married Scott W Angus Sr in 1971 and they were blessed with 2 beautiful children. They later divorced. In 1985 she married Steven R Folkerson and gained 2 bonus daughters. In 1995 Steve and Kay were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom and Dad served as missionaries in the addiction recovery program from 1998 to present where they helped many struggling with addiction and co dependency. She was a leader in her alanon group and had many friends that would lean on her for comfort and support.
Mom’s pride and joy were her Grandchildren. She loved to take them to Disneyland, shopping, movies and was their biggest cheerleader in all they did. She was a pure light in everyone’s life that she came in contact with. She loved to serve, be a listening ear and was often found taking meals to those that were hurting. Mom loved all holidays and decorated her home to the fullest and found joy in planting her flowers, garden and making her yard beautiful. In the fall you could always find her in the kitchen canning salsa, spaghetti sauce and dilly beans.
Mom and Dad always loved a good adventure together enjoying many cruises, road trips and weeks at their time share in Las Vegas relaxing.
Mom was the strongest woman in the world, she endured so much in her life and was the glue that kept everyone together.
Mom is survived by her husband Steve, Daughter Mandy (Sean), Son Scott, Bonus Daughters Candice and Cheryl, 6 grandchildren- Macie Kay (13) Braxton (13) Brinklee (9) Halen (2) Caleb (19) and Tyler (13).
